August 2, 2008: SCA Event at Cripple Creek, Colorado
This month marks two years living in the bus...WOOT!
An SCA event (Baron's War, hosted by Dragonsspine) was held at the Lost Burro Campground, so I decided to try out my new Pentax K200D dSLR. I was also quite curious about the SCA event and the people who attend and participate.
The SCA folks were very warm and welcoming to this outsider, and didn't seem to mind me lurking around taking photos.

on August 4, 2008Hi! Glad to see you came out to see what all the noise was about at Lost Burro this weekend!
This picture (well, it's commentary) has me going, not quite. We don't use muskets in any aspect except as an arts or sciences display (how they were made, how gunpowder was made, etc). Our rapier fighters wear face masks to protect them from the very 'small' tips of the weapons (as well as the edges) as they can do as much if not more damage to a person than our heavy gear. (being that the rapier guys can use slashing techniques with their blades)
Gorgeous shots though - I'll be linking this to a couple places!
