My 300-mile route went from Silver City to Lordsburg, then a brief stint on I-10, finally turning south on 338 toward Animas. The two-lane highways were nearly empty, and I was fortunate enough to have an intermittent tailwind.
Close to Sonoita, Arizona. The rolling, tawny grasslands extend to Mexico. Nearby in Elgin is a vineyard complete with monk-operated winery.
Back to the Sonoran desert to ride out the brutal winter. :o)
My job for the season is to keep any eye on yonder unoccupied house, along with the nearby guesthouse and shop.
