November 5, 2006: Catalina State Park, southern Arizona

We stopped for the night at Gila River Recreation Area (BLM) approximately five miles north of Winkleman on Hwy 77.

Having set up all of our systems...we went for a walk on one of the many local trails. Beautiful Sonoran desert flora surrounded us.

One straight laced and one wild saguaro -- both impressive.

Wild one supports multiple bird habitats (note large twig nest, upper right arm.)

This trailhead sign leads to many hikes of varying length and difficulty.

Near sunset we headed back home.
